Hi Everyone
There has been a number of changes for proficiencies this year so it is very important that you read this email in full.
Proficiency Theory Paper This is now available online and will be the preferred way of submitting the theory component of proficiency. This will speed up the process on proficiency days as all that will need to be done will be beach work, CPR, Advanced Resuscitation and Defib.
You will be required to logon to www.lifesavingonline.com.au and create an account ( Click Here for instructions)
Once you have completed the online paper correctly, you will be taken to a page that indicates your name and that you have completed the questionnaire. Please ensure that this is printed out and bought with you on your preferred proficiency day along with your proficiency swim .
Also attached is a hard copy of the Proficiency Theory Paper , if this is used you MUST use blue or black pen (pencil will not be accepted).
If you have not completed one of these two items and present them on proficiency day, you can not complete your proficiency. It will be necessary to book into your preferred day with the office also this year (please see below regarding this requirement).
Also attached is the Lifesaver Proficiency Bulletin which details changes to the new Resuscitation guidelines, Defibrillation use and IRB Awareness for all Bronze Medallion holders (not crew or driver).
Proficiency pool swims must be completed on the Pool Swim Assessment Form. This can be done at any pool as long as it is signed off by a Level 1 coach.
Proficiency Days
You will now be required to book into one of the assigned Proficiency dates below through the office:
16 October (must be booked in by 12 October) 13 November (must be booked in by 9 November) 11 December (must be booked in by 7 December)
Please do not turn up on the day without booking in, your swim time and completion slip for theory paper or hard copy completed. If you have not done all of these or do not present them all you will not be permitted to do your proficiency.
If you are unable to attend any of the above dates, it will be your responsibility to source another club doing their proficiency on your preferred date and coordinate through our office to arrange to join them to complete your proficiency (although this is possible, it is not encouraged as there is a lot of paperwork and organising).
Asthma, EpiPen Awareness
I have provided attachments for Asthma , Anaphylaxis/EpiPen awareness for each.
Please ensure that you read thoroughly as it will be assessed.
Your assistance with the above is requested to make this difficult transition easy for everyone involved.
Thank you.
